Media & Teaching studios open Jan. 25
The Library's third-floor Media Scholarship Commons (MSC) recording studios and fourth-floor Teaching Studio will open Monday, Jan. 25 with social distancing restrictions. They will be available by appointment only.
Media Scholarship Commons recording studios
Located on the third floor in the Price Gilbert building, the MSC's recording studios provide campus access to professional-level hardware and software for the creation of creative, media-rich projects and research.
Opening Jan. 25 are reservable video and audio recording studios with control room, whisper booth, lightboard, and green screen technologies. At a later date, the MSC will also provide users with a reservable, post-production editing room and a computing zone with multimedia software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools. The space will be staffed by student experts and provides services and support for poster (wide-format) printing.
Due to the specialized nature of the equipment in the studios, we require users to briefly review some training materials. The training materials will orient you to the equipment in the recording studios and elsewhere in the MSC.
Teaching Studio
Located on the fourth floor of Price Gilbert, the Teaching Studio is the Library’s hub for the design, support, and practice of teaching. It features a self-serve recording space for practice presentations and pre-recorded lectures. The open space features plenty of comfortable sofa seating and highboy tables with integrated outlets and power.
