Audio & Video Recording Studios Reservations

The Audio Recording Studio is currently CLOSED for repairs and updates. We apologize for the inconvenience. 

Due to the specialized nature of the equipment in the studios, you must review some training materials and pass quizzes before making a reservation. You will learn what equipment is available, how to use it, and the rules of the Multimedia Studios. You can review the training materials anytime, even if you are not making a reservation. The training is suitable for beginners and advanced users.

1. Enroll in the Canvas course

2. Complete the necessary quiz or quizzes

3. Wait 24 hours for your quiz results to be processed

4. Use LibCal to reserve the audio studio or the video studio. Reservation must be made at least 48 hours in advance

5. Allow at least 2 business days for approval of all reservations

6. Bring the required external storage (USB drive or SD card) to the studio and record your project

Please note: We do not produce your projects for you, nor do we provide any form of hand’s-on training. The required Canvas courses are your primary resources for learning the spaces. If you have additional needs, don’t hesitate to contact the Public Services Department.

Rules and expectations for the Multimedia Studios

I'm having trouble getting enrolled in the Multimedia Studios Canvas course? 

You can self-enroll in the Canvas Course or have service managers add you. Submit a ticket if you have problems self-enrolling. 
 

I need a special microphone or peripherals to work in the studio, where do I get them? 

A wide array of devices and peripherals are available through both the Gadgets and Gadgets Pro services within the GT library. Please consult their pages for detailed item listings and reservation information.

In the Canvas Course there is a short module on available Microphone kits for the studio. Review that module.
