The Georgia Tech Library and partner Mediacurrent recently won a W3 Silver award for the website overhaul launched in January of 2019 to coincide with the opening of Crosland Tower. Among the features recognized for excellence were the site’s clean, responsive design and user interface, ease of use and seamless incorporation of multi-media elements. To see the award-winning site, visit www.library.gatech.edu.

“We are truly honored to be included with other winners like the Google Store, Crayola, AT&T and Dell Technologies,” said Heather Jeffcoat, Web & Discovery Management Librarian. “It always feels great when your hard work is recognized by such a prestigious organization.”

Jeffcoat led the team that created a new Georgia Tech Library website experience from the ground up. She said the site is just phase one in a multi-part plan to create a full-service web portal for any and all library needs, including options for the growing cohort of distance and virtual learners that represent the future of the Institute.

The W3 Awards, sanctioned by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, celebrate digital excellence by honoring outstanding websites, web marketing, mobile sites and applications and social content.
