Join the Georgia Tech Library Wednesday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to noon in the Scholars Event Network Theater, located on Price Gilbert’s first floor, for a roundtable discussion featuring students involved in the 2024 a2ru Emerging Creatives Summit.

The students, Dhruv Kulkarni, El Pimentel, Letka Gowda, and Supratim Pait, participated in the summit, hosted at Rochester Institute of Technology March 14-17. This year’s theme was “PLAY: The Impact of Play on How We Create and Relate to the World.”

Students set out to answer the following questions, seeking to inform interdisciplinary and collaborative work.

  • How are we — our mindsets, our approaches, our whole selves — different when we are at play?
  • What do the structures and assumptions of board games, team sports, or role-playing games imply about who we are, how we think, and how we relate to others?
  • What about the world of unstructured play—of just “messing around?”
