Sharon Riehl joined the Georgia Tech Library in 2017 as the Human Resources Business Partner. Prior to her time in the Library, Sharon served for 2 years as an HR Business Partner for the Georgia Tech Office of Information Technology (OIT). Sharon has consultative strategic HR experience in both higher education and a number of industries in the private sector. Her key areas of expertise include coaching, talent management, cultural transformation, organizational development, change management and employee engagement/well-being.
Above all, Sharon has found her passion serving the broad Georgia Tech community by facilitating connections, relationships and solutions for the people, teams and organizations for which she is a member. In addition to serving as the HR Business Partner at the Library, Sharon is on the Leadership Team of the Resilience Employee Resource Group, is part of the Certified Coaches Network for the Effective Team Dynamics Initiative and is a Leadership Coach for Graduate Students participating in the Leading Edge program. The heartbeat of Sharon’s work is bringing people together and helping them understand and leverage their strengths for individual, team and organizational growth.
Sharon earned a Masters of Business Administration in Human Resources Management & Development from Kennesaw State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Louisville. Her professional HR certifications include: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM – CP). Sharon has also successfully completed CTI Co-Active Coaches Training Program, is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
