Dean Leslie Sharp named board president of ASERL

At its 2025 Annual Meeting May 19-21, Georgia Tech Library Dean Leslie Sharp was named Board President for the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL). Sharp previously served as vice-president in 2024 and 2025 and follows Georgia State Dean of Libraries Jeff Steely in the position. 

“We are so pleased to have Leslie Sharp as ASERL’s Board President for the year ahead,” said John Burger, executive director of ASERL. “She has established herself as a thought leader both in the region and nationally and has finely tuned interpersonal skills that will cultivate relationships to ensure ASERL continues to grow and thrive.  I’m excited to be working more closely with her in the months ahead.” 

Sharp said it is an honor to be elected to serve the group and her research library colleagues across the region.

“ASERL provides Georgia Tech and its other members with resource sharing, shared print, high quality professional development opportunities so that we can expand our reach, increase access to collections and information, and better serve our communities,” she said.
