The Price’s Pride Award recognizes members of the Georgia Tech Library classified staff for significant achievement resulting in contributions to the Institute. The award is funded by an endowment created by Joseph Mundy.
The Frances Kaiser Award recognizes a member of the Georgia Tech Library faculty for significant professional achievement in library and information science resulting in contributions to the Institute. The award honors Frances Kaiser, dedicated librarian and teacher, with a strong commitment to providing excellent library service. The award is funded by an endowment created by Joseph Mundy in 1996 to honor Frances Kaiser.

Price’s Pride Award Info

The Price’s Pride Award recognizes members of the Georgia Tech Library classified staff for significant achievement resulting in contributions to the Institute. The award is funded by an endowment created by Joseph Mundy.

Eligibility:

The Price’s Pride Award recognizes classified staff in the Library who have made a significant impact on innovations, efficiencies, or improvements to existing processes or services in the Library consistent with the Institute’s mission, vision, and goals. The expectation is that the exceptional performance must have a significant impact on student lives, the greater community as a whole, and/or research/teaching connections.

Significant consideration for performance or innovations that enhance the quality of work-life in ways that make a significant difference for colleagues, students, faculty. research, or staff, setting an example of leadership and commitment to the Library and the GT Community, improvements or innovations that positively impact services, innovations or learning outcomes.

Award Process:

One award will be presented to up to three full-time classified employees annually.

There is a two year exclusionary period for all previous award recipients. The nominations are confidentially reviewed by an awards panel consisting of an HR representative and previous Prices Pride Award winners who will review all nomination packets and select up to three recipients each year.

Nominations are open to any full-time member of the classified staff. Supervisors can nominate individuals outside of their line of supervision and they can also be nominated.

Selection Process & Submission Procedure:

Nominations must include:

  • Nominee Name, Title & Department (Self-nominations are acceptable)
  • A signed submission containing a statement supporting the nomination and detailing how the nominee meets the criteria for the award
  • A brief profile of the nominee

Frances Kaiser Award Info

The Frances Kaiser Award recognizes a member of the Georgia Tech Library faculty for significant professional achievement in library and information science resulting in contributions to the Institute. The award honors Frances Kaiser, dedicated librarian and teacher, with a strong commitment to providing excellent library service. The award is funded by an endowment created by Joseph Mundy in 1996 to honor Frances Kaiser.

Eligibility:

The Frances Kaiser Award recognizes a full-time member of the Georgia Tech Library faculty who has suggested/created and implemented an innovation, specifically for the Library and information science, or has significantly improved upon an existing one. This innovation must have a significant impact on student lives, and research / teaching connections. Significant consideration for major achievements in research, instruction, or cross-institute collaborations as measured by learning outcomes, successful follow-up work, significant publications, or sponsored grants. This award will be measurable by the educational innovation, implementation and overall impact on the Institute.

Nominees must be full-time Georgia Tech Library faculty.

There is a two year exclusion period for all previous award recipients. The selection committee will consist of an HR representative and the three previous Kaiser Award winners, who will review all nomination packets and select one Kaiser Award recipient each year.

  • A current CV or profile for the nominee
  • Samples of published materials or products
