                      Georgia Tech Rare Book Spotlight: Archives Open House

  Please join the Georgia Tech Library in the Archives Reading Room Wednesday, Aug. 6 from noon to 2 p.m. for an open house to view a selection of the newest acquisitions in rare books, science fiction, and university archives from the Library’s Archives and Special Collections department.
Selections include:
- Illustrated books from the “Theatre of Machines” genre highlighting late-Renaissance and early modern European mechanical engineering;
- Benjamin Franklin’s Experiments and Observations on Electricity, Made at Philadelphia in 1769;
- Early modern books on cryptography with working ciphers;
- An 1899 first American edition of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and a 20th century edition illustrated by Edward Gorey;
- Science fiction magazines and fan materials related to Star Trek and Dungeons and Dragons; and
- Complete anthologies of EC Comics Weird Science and Vault of Horror.
