Head of Research Data Services (Librarian II, III, or IV) Hybrid

The Library at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia seeks a visionary and collaborative leader to establish and lead a new Research Data Services (RDS) department. As the Head of Research Data Services, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the library's role in supporting data-intensive research at a leading Research 1 (R1) institution. This role includes the opportunity to hire two full-time positions to support the department's mission and to develop strong partnerships across campus to advance research data activities. This position will lead efforts to develop, implement, and promote services that address the full lifecycle of research data, from data management planning to long-term preservation and reuse. The ideal candidate will have a forward-thinking approach, a strong commitment to service excellence, and the ability to foster collaboration both within and beyond the library. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarly Access. Worksite location is Atlanta, GA and hybrid (up to two days per week). 

This is a 12-month faculty position with an effort distribution of 50% administration, 30% librarianship, 10% scholarship, and 10% professional service to the library profession. Up to two (2) years credit for previous professional experience may be given at the time of employment, in which case such credit will be stated in the offer letter. The Georgia Tech Library Faculty may enjoy flexible work schedules, professional development, and a healthy work-life balance. 

This is not a remote position, but some teleworking hours are supported.

Public Services Associate I

Responsible for library customer support (in person and electronic) which includes: providing assistance with myriad library services, providing bibliographic instruction and referrals, assistance with accessing library content and shared resources, providing user account management, and assisting with various technologies. Provides access and reference services support to GT library patrons, including fulfillment, reference, and multimedia. Responsible for the day-to-day processing of digital and physical material requests, including cataloging, acquisitions, e-resources, course reserves, and resource sharing. Works independently and as part of a team, aiding in the development of workflows, implementing strategic projects, and troubleshooting problems. Provides guidance and training to other library staff members. Individual responsibilities will vary. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, students, staff, unit management, vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty, students, unit staff.
