Staff provides 24/5 assistance with:

  • Software applications on LWC/LEC machines
  • LWC/LEC peripherals  - including printing, scanning, and video capture/editing
  • Software and hardware training sessions in the Multimedia Lab
  • A comprehensive range of information services
  • GT Account password activation and reset
  • Virtual and email reference assistance

Additional expert technical assistance is available from 8 am to midnight for:

  • Digital photo, video and sound editing
  • Sound conversion from tape recordings to digital files
  • Audio and video tape dubbing
  • Graphics arts creation

The LWC is equipped with:

The LWC Multimedia Studio is equipped with:

  • 3 PC workstations Workstations
  • 19 PowerMac Quad Core G5 Workstations running Mac OS X
  • Wide-format Scanner (12.2” x 17.2”)
  • Photo/Slide Scanner
  • Video Capture Editing Equipment
    • MiniDV/S-VHS Dual Decks
    • DVD-Recorders
    • NTSC, PAL, PAL-M, SECAM, MESECAM VHS Player

The LEC is equipped with the following state-of-the art hardware types:

  • 30 PC workstations running Windows XP with 24" monitors designed for group computing.
  • 6 walk-up PC workstations
  • 4 visitor workstations
  • Printing stations (black-and-white or color)
  • Wide-Format Printer

  • Software Available:

    LWC/LEC provide core software used in undergraduate coursework, and the Multimedia Studo provides additional software for Graphics Design, Video Editing, 3D Modeling, and Web Design - View the Software List.

  • Laptop/Wireless Service:

  • Power and network outlets are located throughout the Library so that laptop computers can be used in comfortable and convenient locations
  • GT LAWN wireless access is available throughout the building
