Information Technology & Development

The Georgia Tech Library Information Technology & Development Department supports a variety of services for the Georgia Tech Community.

Desktop Services

Is responsible for desktop computing resources used by Library Staff and the public. This includes hardware and software installation and maintenance, training, and inventory control.

eResource and Database Technical Support

Supports access to the commercial databases that are available through GALILEO and locally loaded databases provided by the Library. Other supported services include SFX, E-Reserves, Document Delivery, ETD, and the Dublin Core experimental database.

Integrated Library System

Supports the Voyager library management system that includes the library catalog, the circulation system, and the acquisitions and serials system.

Network Services

Network Services is involved with purchasing, consulting, installation, and maintenance of the server and storage infrastructure. This includes securing deployments of services and software, integration and best practices, developing strategies, accountability audits and access restrictions, monitoring for intrusions, architecture, and virtualization.

Web Services

Is responsible for coordinating tasks that support the Georgia Tech Library’s web presence.
